Damavand is a popular destination for summer trekking tours. Because of its great height (5671 masl) and easy accessibility from the capital Tehran (about 2 hours), Mount Damavand is also increasing its popularity for ski touring and snowboarding in recent years. In good snow condition it is possible to ski downhill about 12 Km on the mild ski slopes. Damavand is surly one of the world's finest off-piste skitouring resort.
