Q- How much acclimatisation do we need to Climb Damavand ?
A- Before we could talk about this, we need some information about your team and your physical fitness?!
What kind of mountains have you climbed so far?
What was the highest elevation?
When was your last successful attempt?
Where and at what elevation above sea level do you live?
Do you have any extra weight?
Do you have any kind of sickness?
What is your age?
Do you have any daily/weekly training?
Please give any information which you think might be helpful in this regard.

Acclimatization for Damavand Mountain, Iran

Generally speaking 5 days itinerary is very good for Damavand, but we can discuss more about itinerary when we know more details about arrival to Iran and the arrival time to the first camp, ie if you arrive to Camp 1 Polour late in the afternoon, you may need one extra day for acclimatization at this camp.

Mount Damavand Camp 3 New Hut 4250 m

Q- What kind of acclimatization do you recommend for climbing Mt Damavand Iran?
A- It is mainly dependent to your mountaineering experience in high altitude, training and physical fitness. Generally speaking for ordinarily mountaineers, sleeping one nigh at Camp 1 Polour 2250 m and one night at Camp 3 Bargah Sevom 4250 could be good enough to attempt the peak 5671 m. But if you are not quite sure about your adaptation to the high altitude, you may consider the second night rest at camp 3 before the summit push.

Note
We do not recommend using Camp2 Base as a starting point for acclimatization or accommodation anymore, especially in summer season. Sea also Warning.
